Lets face it, its a never ending task to keep your car clean for us Oregonians, and who has the time or energy to wash their own car these days? Well, according to Lona Palmer, owner of Elite Car Bath, not very many people.
Lona and her husband Frank opened the first location on Q street in Springfield in Sept. of 1991 and they been serving up shiny cars ever since. They operated the business together until about 3 years ago when Frank fell ill. Since then Lona has taken the reigns and continues their tradition of premium customer service and appreciation.
Eugenians were in need of a full service carwash after Mr. Luster, on Coburg Road closed its doors. Who better to fill that void than the same company that has been cleaning cars head to toe, in and out in Springfield for nearly 20 years, Elite Car Bath. In early 2005 Elite’s Eugene location at 8th and Chambers opened. The Eugene location offers the same premium car cleaning services as the their first carwash located at the Pioneer Plaza in Springfield. For now Lona says that they are content with their two locations and are focusing on continuing to do a great job cleaning cars and creating relationships with their customers. “We know that our customers are always right and they deserve to be treated that way” - Lona Palmer
Before Frank and Lona got
into the Car Wash business Frank owned a logging
truck. Needless to say in the early 90’s there were
quite a few log
truck
owners in Oregon that were exploring new
opportunities. Frank and Lona partnered with her
parents to open the first Elite Car Bath and later
bought them out to become full owners.
Its 9:00AM on a sunny Thursday morning, and there are four cars getting vacuumed out before their hand pre-scrub and automatic wash. So where is Lona? She is in a customer’s car vacuuming out the nooks and crannies to help her hard working employees move along the consistent flow of cars that they see everyday. They work hard and move cars through fast.
After you drop your car off to be vacuumed by the friendly attendant, there is a very clean and organized gift shop with greeting cards, gifts, coffee mugs, and nick-knacks for you to browse through during the short wait for your car. Coffee, tea and a few other beverages are available as well. Conveniently, you can watch your car pass by in the carwash through the large windows as you shop.
“I’ve had my car washed here, and only here at least once a month since 1995 because I know that when my car gets done, non of my stuff will be missing, and my car is actually going to be clean. I come back for the consistency!” – Loyal Elite Car Bath Customer
It is very personal to have your car washed. Many of us keep the most intimate details of our lives in our cars, so we need to trust the people that are cleaning our cars. Lona is very selective about who she hires for just that reason. You can rest assured that when you give your keys to the courteous attendant at Elite Car Bath, your car is in good hands. It’s the hard work of Lona and her enthusiastic and trustworthy employees that keep cars rolling back through Elite Car Bath year after year.
